A realistic range
The Series 63 is a NASAA state-law exam — 60 scored questions over 75 minutes, and you need 43 of 60 (about 72%)to pass. There's no SIE requirement. It's one of the shorter exams, and most candidates land in the 15–25 hourrange over one to two weeks. The challenge isn't volume — it's the precise definitions, registration rules, and prohibited practices you have to keep straight.
How to prep efficiently
- Practice more than you re-read. Doing questions and reviewing why each answer is right or wrong builds recall of the definitions far faster than re-reading the law.
